Officer nabbed for false insurance claim

Bloemfontein: The Anti corruption members arrested a female Sergeant at Tweespruit, Free State Province on Tuesday, 10 May 2022, for defeating the ends of justice.

A member of the South African Police Services allegedly opened a case of house breaking and theft back in February.

She alleged that someone broke into her house and stole her Television set and clothes.

According to Sergeant Mahlomola Karelia, “this was to allow her to claim from her insurance. Anti-corruption unit members were notified after it was identified that something doesn’t add up”

The suspect appeared before the Tweespruit Magistrate court and was grated bail. The case is postponed to 24 May 2022 for further investigation.
