Bloemfontein: Free State Government has sent well wishes to Mathaithai Football Club ahead of their tomorrow’s Nedbank Cup last 32 match against NC Professionals in Kimberly.
Provincial leader Premier Sisi Ntombela is proud of the Mathaithai FC, who are the only representatives of the Free State in the tournament.
In her statement Nobel believe the Botshabelo based club will carry the hopes of the entire province going into the match.
A win for them will see the club progress to the last 16 of the tournament, where they could potentially face off with one of the country’s biggest football clubs.
Premier Ntombela called on the people of the Free State to rally behind the club.
“I wish to take this opportunity to wish Mathaithai Football Club the best of luck for their match against NC Professionals on saturday, 12th February 2022. We are all rooting for the boys and I am certain that when they take to the field, they will give it their all.
They are a group of hardworking players and there is no doubt in my mind that they will do their very best to advance to the next round of the tournament.
I can assure the players and all those affiliated with the club that the Free State province is behind you. The players have a tough task ahead of them, but one which they can achieve.
They must simply work hard on the field of play, but importantly, to enjoy themselves while so doing. On behalf of the people of our province, I wish the club well for their match on saturday afternoon,” Premier Ntombela said.
