4IR Summit Summoned

Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela addressing Media at the launch of 4th Industrial Revolution summit.

Bloemfontein: The Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela  have launched Fourth Industrial Revolution Summit on Tuesday, 19 November in Naval Hill Bloemfontein.

The Media launch serves as a curtain  raiser to the upcoming two days 4IR Summit scheduled to take place from 28-29 November 2019.

Speaking to the Media, Ntombela said the summit will enable the province to analyse the employment opportunities.

“The sixth administration is hoping to have a mouthful of jobs, as government we are in support of the 4IR and the coming summit will give us an indication of helping to create jobs,” she said.

“The 4IR Summit is a strategic programme aimed at confronting the reality of persistent high levels of unemployment; particularly among the youth; address skills shortage and mismatches in with the labour force.

Many kids are not having skills and this summit will help on ways to provide scarce needed,” she added.

The program is a deliberate strategic platform channelled to fundamentally stimulate economic growth; by unlocking a wide range of economic opportunities  and to develop capacity through the up skilling of labour.

This will enable the province to effective participate in the highly competitive digital economy. The productive usage of 4IR will not only develop a new kind of workforce but it will equally assist to foster local economic growth and to create a pool of new job opportunities, particularly for the youth of our province.

Free State have over 67 percent of unemployment and it is one of the province with skills scarcity. After the summit it is expected that both Government and Corporate will work together.
