PUTHADITJHABA – COGTA MEC Nxangisa is delightful after his intervention at the troubled Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality. The eastern Free State based local municipality made history on Sunday when they became the fi rst Council to sit on Sunday when they were passing the budget. Nxangisa who was recently appointed said the council meeting under the acting mayor Moeketsi Lebesa, went successful. “I wish to appreciate the high level of political maturity of all Councillor’s in Maluti a Phofung for ensuring that the municipality is saved from desolations.
They have applied what we refer as ‘tools of analysis’ and were directed by the ANC strategy and tactics to arrives at this decision,” Nxangisa said. He said they are gazetting the by-elections for 15 wards in MAP from tomorrow and called upon people to restore the victory of the ANC in the forth coming elections. “I am pleased about the developments in MAP this far, we are committed to ensure that we prioritize service delivery and make it fashionable.
I am happy about the determination of councillors to put the people fi rst, they passed the budget on Sunday which makes them the fi rst sitting of council on a Sunday in the entire country,” said Nxangisa adding that this is the extent to which they take seriously issues of service delivery. The municipality had been sparked with the number of protests in the past which also cost even the current MEC to intervene. BECKER SEMELA
