Innovation Hub will operate in full swing

MATJHABENG municipal Executive mayor Nkosinjani Speelman denied vehemently that Welkom’s Innovation Hub is not operating.

The mayor was responding following questions and complaints of minimal operations from community after the opening in April this year.

He said the Hub will officially open next month.

He said they cannot come up with the project and let it not to operate.

“This is an important project to our people and there has been a bit slowly operation this far but the official opening will be next month in August.

It’s a project intended to empower youth in the Matjhabeng area and the entire Lejweleputswa District,” Speelman said.

He said that all sectors of government particularly the municipalities has to work closely with the private sector to reduce joblessness amongst the youth.

He said private companies in Matjhabeng through the Lejweleputswa District is looking to partner with the private sectors to create more jobs.

Recently the mayor said they will look into the matter of opening the closed mines that still has mineral resources and empower people to work on them legally not illegally.
